I have a new computer (ThinkPad Z60t with 1.5GB memory) running Windows XP
SP2, Office 2003 Professional, SP2 (with ALL current updates). I am having
issues with Outlook and it is becoming rather painful... when I am switching
between mail items with no attachments or embedded images in the email - it
changes quickly, but if there are images or attachments, it can take anywhere
from 10 to 20 seconds for the email to open in the preview pane. I currently
us a POP3 connection to my mail. I have turned off Instant Messaging (Person
Names) in Tools -> Options -> Other, I have also removed all of the speech
recognition, handwriting recognition and additional language support (see MS
KB
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;823586&Product=off2003)
I have also tried adding a registry key per MS KB
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;833041) to no avail.
I have even defragmented my hard drive (multiple times) and it is clean in
that respect. Any other ideas? Thank you in advance.
