Hi,

Is there anyway that my attachment (pdf, doc, xls) can be view directly from the mail itself without opening it first?

There is nothing new about this as Mail App and Outlook 2007 can do this as well. This is a copy from outlook 2007 website :

"Preview attachments in one click with Attachment Preview. Accessing e-mail attachments is often a multistep process with no easy way to gain quick insight into the content. With Attachment Preview, you can easily preview your attachments in one click directly from within Office Outlook 2007."

Well Mail does it because they have QuickLook built in (and it supports
previewing all these formats).
Entourage doesn't natively support QuickLook,

I saw where it was not included because Office 2008 works on Tiger and
Leopard. QuickLook is Leopard only and they would not add a feature that
would not work on all supported platforms.

Since Mail.app comes with Leopard that wasn't an issue for them.

Is there any add-on out there for this? This is even possible for a third party developer to build this ?

thanks

We don't. Well we occasionally does when we want to make sure we are sending the right attachment.

But I am pretty sure we need the preview for the attachment we received in mail.

That I can understand especially when they are zipped. The others should
show up in the message body...well parts of it.

We are asking scripters to see if it's possible. Stay tuned.

Hi Mike,

you can also use a keyboard shortcut. The "\cL" string in the file name
indicates that you can simply select an attachment and then hit Ctrl-L to
invoke the script.

Thank you all. Damn, now I don't see why I need Mail app!! It makes my life easier, before opening an attachment now I can preview first to see if this is what I am looking for.

THANKS !!
