Previewer in Outlook 2007

I am unable to open and preview an attachment in Outlook 2007. (This feature
did work, but does not now) I get a message that reads: 'This action is only
valid for products that are currently intalled.' I then see another message
that reads: ' This file cannot be previewed because there is no previewer
installed for it.' However, a previewer is installed. The Microsoft updates
are current and I installed the XPSEP XP and Server 2003 32bit.msi download.
I cannot see anywhere else to go with the Office Online thread. Also
checked Adobe Acrobat and updated it with 8.1.4 but the attachement still
does not open.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Also checked Adobe Acrobat and updated it with 8.1.4 but the attachement
still
does not open.

Acrobat or Acrobat Reader (not the same product). If it's Acrobat Reader,
download the new V9 and install that. I hae to uninstall Acrobat Reader and
reinstall it before the previewer would work correctly.

Brian: Thanks for the post. I do not have Adobe Acrobat, but I did remove
Adobe Reader (8) and replace it with 9 (plus the update), but the problem
persists. I was also unable to get the Microsoft notification window to open
for a reply to your e-mail. I returned to the site the old way. I do not
know if these two things are related.

I haven't looked, but perhaps Adobe has a forum in which you could ask. The
previewer for PDF files is supplied by Acrobat Reader or Acrobat, not Outlook.

There are many problems with reading and responding the the newsgroups when
you use the web interface to the groups. If you were to use a real newsreader
like Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail, Forte Agent, Xnews, or Thunderbird,
you'd probably have fewer problems in that regard.

Hi

I've just had the same problem occour after several months of Adobe 9.0 &
9.1 handler working fine.

It has occoured today havine recieved the latest updates for Office 2007
yesterday

The installed updates (KB's) were:
959426
960803
952004
956572
961373
923561
960003
933399
959997
905474

I have also unistaled Adobe, & reinstalled and tried the Foxit handler all
to no avail.

I would think that some security update has stopped the third party handlers
from working..

Any help would be appreciated.
