I want to buy Visio Pro. I am seeing Academic pricing for Visio Pro. What
is the difference between regular priced Visio Pro and Academic priced Visio
Pro software? Are there limitations to the academic priced software?

The difference comes in the licensing. Typically, educational versions
cannot be used for commercial purposes and often cannot be upgraded.
