Greetings

As a user can have multiple SMTP addresses set, how do i get the primary SMTP address of the account from Entourage 2008.

The current user settings might be different than the primary SMTP account.

Any message property provides the primary SMTP address or do i need do a LDAP query to find it?

I need to talk to Exchange server 2007 using the primary address. Any other address used gives an error to use the Primary SMTP address

Thanks in advance

If I understand you correctly, you want to find the SMTP server associated
with a particular account. Go to Account Settings under the Entourage menu
and double click on the account of interest. It should show you the names of
the mailbox and SMTP servers.

You said, however, that you are using Exchange. I assume that means the
account is set up as Exchange. Exchange accounts do not have separate SMTP
servers (unlike IMAP and POP), at least in E 2004. You must be sure you have
the correct Exchange server is listed in Account Settings.

If you are using IMAP to connect to an Exchange server (which is possible)
then you must have the correct IMAP server address to receive mail and
(usually) a different server address for the SMTP server in the Account
Settings for that account.
