Print Dialog Won't Show

Pressing cmd+P or selecting Print from the FIle menu causes Word's
interface to redraw (flicker), but no dialog appears. This is a
problem, because it means I can't print a document with nonstandard
settings or print to PDF, which I often need. The Print button in the
Standard toolbar still works. My only addition to Word is MathType. Any
ideas?

Issue self-resolved, CLOSED.
Cause: a modification to Carbon while attempting to repair an unrelated
problem.
Solution: Reinstallation of 10.4.5 update.
