Print Dialogue Freezes Up

I'm trying to change the print settings of a document before I print it. I have everything set in the Print Dialogue but when I hit "print" it freezes and I have to Force Quit.
I have no problem in other, non-Microsoft, programs.

Printing from the toolbar works fine, but since I need to change a setting, I need to print through the dialogue.

What can I do to stop this from freezing up?

Hi Em2 -

Confirm that you have Office (12.1.2) and OS X (10.5.4) fully updated & that
you've repaired disk permissions since doing so. The most likely problem,
though, is that you need an update for your printer driver. Check the mfr's
web site for your model. The point at which the problem occurs is beyond
Word's reach - it's either the driver or the OS causing the hang-up.

If your system isn't already at 10.5.4 or there's no update for the driver
or the problem continues go to the Apple Downloads site to get the 10.5.4
COMBO Update & apply that. You'll find it here:

http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/

Reply back if you continue to have problems.
