Hi Amos:

No. You need to Insert (embed) the JPG into the document.

You can link to the file, but it must be inserted into the document, not
displayed as an icon.

Cheers

Hi Amos:

Yes:

1) Insert>Picture>From file

2) Browse to the picture in the dialog that opens.

3) OK.

That will store a copy of the picture inside the document file. That's
usually best: you can email the document ore move it around on the disk
without the picture getting lost.

If you really want to print "Linked" images, you can replace step 3 above
with:

3) Check the "Link to file" checkbox

4) Uncheck the "Save with document" checkbox

5) OK.

Word will then print the image file from the disk along with the document.

Using linked pictures is a lot of trouble: I recommended only for large (>
500 pages) documents where it becomes important to keep the file size down.

Now: Why did you not find this information in the Word Help topic "Insert a
picture"? I wonder if I have missed your question? Are you saying you
tried this and it didn't work? Check Word>Preferences>Print to ensure you
have "Include with document>Drawing objects" switched to ON.

Cheers
