Print either a Summary or Detailed view from the one doc

The article suggests using conditional text for the matter you want
included/excluded. This entails using a bookmark for the condition (set to
yes or no in their example), and IF fields for the text to be shown or not
shown according to the bookmark setting. (Help explains how IF fields work.
This is not a practical solution in your case, since most of your text (the
'detailed' view) would have to go inside your IF fields. It is technically
possible, but in practice would make your document rather hard to maintain
(to say the least!), and would confuse the hell out of your readers, also.

What you're after can be done by defining a character style (called, eg,
'Detail'), and applying it to all the detail content matter. Define that
style as 'Default paragraph font + Hidden' for the summary view; clear the
'hidden' setting for the full document.

But the least-effort solution is just to create a separate summary version
of the document.
