Print Field Code and pdfmark

I've been trying to use a Print field code to place pdfmarks in a Word
2004 (mac) document. The code doesn't work, so I examined the
PostScript file in a text editor.

The code doesn't even show up! Is there a reason that Word would not
send the code? Here is the code I'm trying:

{ PRINT \p para "[ /Rect [ wp$box pathbbox ] /Action /GoToR /File
(00-Introduction.pdf) /Subtype /Link /ANN pdfmark " \* MERGEFORMAT }

My pdfmark may be flawed, but I can't debug it since it doesn't even
appear to be placed in the postscript file.

I am having the same problem as you. I've reduced my postscript to a
simple example copied from a web page where the author says it works in
Word (but not 2004 for OS X). I've followed a similar debugging path to
yours, ending up where you are - no sign of my embedded postscipt in
the PS file output from word.

It would be really good to know if anyone has successfully embedded PS
with the Print field in Word 2004.

I have yet to see anything by anyone who has.

I was able to successfully produce PS code in Word 2003 (Windows) from
the same file that would not produce anything in Word 2004 for OS X.

Mike,

This is a known issue with Mac Word 2004. We are working on determining the
best approach with working with the PDF output of an application's print job
and sending the PostScript code. We are hoping to have a resolution for
this issue, but do not have a time frame for the solution.
