Print formatting

I need help formatting the way gantt charts print. There seems to be very
little control over how the information actually hits the page, which means
very little consistency. We have a number of projects run by different
people and they need to print the same. The Sr. VP needs the column widths
and heights to match and the timescale to be consistent. Right now we print
to .pdf and import into photoshop to stretch the information around, which is
incredibly time consuming. We are using Project 2003 Standard.

Thanks,

Hi Jeff,
The way a Gantt chart prints is controlled by a number of different factors
--zoom, table information (column width etc), date formats. The only
recommendation that I might make is to create a custom view (View--> More
Views--> New or Copy existing view)for printing with everything all set. Use
that view for printing. You could copy that view to other files or the
Global.MPT using the organizer. However, it will probably still take some
tweeking as you cannot prevent users from still modifying that view in their
project files.
Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie,

That would then become a training issue. If you set up a global view
that everyone understands is ONLY to be used for printing for the Sr.
VP, then they should understand that they must not make any changes to
it. I've operated this way at prior companies, and it works well.
