print layout view

I have a document that when I send it out some people see it in normal view
and see the page breaks, others open it and see it in print layout view and
looks great. Is there a place I can save the default to open the document in
print layout view, regardless of what version of word they have, and send it
to others?

The document you send should open in the view in which you saved it unless:

1. Recipients are opening the document directly from an attachment and have
Reading Layout view enabled.

2. Recipients have an AutoOpen macro that forces documents to open in a
specific view.

I suspect that the problem is more likely to be (1) rather than (2). If so,
there is really nothing you can do except make suggestions:

1. Suggest that recipients disable Reading Layout view (on the General tab
of Tools | Options). Recipients who really don't like RL view may be
grateful for the information.

2. Suggest that recipients save the document to the HD before opening (only
attachments opened directly open in RL view).

3. Suggest that recipients immediately switch to Print Layout view upon
opening.

In addition, if the document contains a TOC, opening in RL view will have
upset it, and it will be necessary for the recipient to press F9 to update
the TOC after switching to Print Layout view.
