Print multiple copies

Suddenly I'm unable to print multiple copies. I'm using Word X and HP psc
1610. The box for putting the number just won't change. I need thirty copies
of a document with graphics, and I sure hate to do it one at a time. Any
ideas? Thanks.

Yes, I have the updates. My problem only happens with one document. On that
I can't print from the print menu, but I've discovered that I can print it
if I use the preview screen. Thanks in advance.

That's really weird. I suspect there is some corruption of some sort in
your prefs but finding out which one is going to be extremely tedious...
Do you have the same problem from any other app ?

Have you tried reinstalling/updating your printer driver? What happens with
that doc if you use the setting for 'Any Printer'?

Word stores printing preferences for a document in the document itself. So
if the problem is showing up in only one document, the document itself is
corrupt.

The cure is to "Maggie" it -- create a blank document and copy everything
EXCEPT the last paragraph mark into the new document and save under a
different file name. This "abandons" the document's Default Section Break,
which stores all of its settings.

You will need to inspect the document after this: bits of the formatting
will wander around because all the formatting of the document is stored in
the same container.

The settings will be replaced with clean settings in the new document, but
they will all have their default values, so things such as margin widths and
style formatting may need resetting.

Cheers

This is really quite odd actually. The copies control is provided by an OS
api, so it really shouldn't be affected by Word or the print driver
("shouldn't is, of course, the operative word in this sentence). Anyhow, I
would try removing (note, I didn't say deleting), the com.apple.print
preferences from Library/Preferences and ~/Library/Preferences. If that
doesn't work then, the other suggestions in this thread are also worth a
try. If all that fails, just write an applescript:

tell application "Microsoft Word"
repeat x times
print active document
end repeat
end tell

Thanks,
