Print multiple mail merge results on each postcard page in Publish

After creating a postcard in Publisher and successfully completing a mail
merge, I only seem to be able to print one "addressed" post card per page.
When I choose multiple copies (4 per page), I get the same addressee 4 times.
Is it possbile to print 4 mail merge results on a single page, to minimize
paper waste?

Are you actually printing the cards or relying on what print preview is telling
you?
Print preview shows all the cards the same, it is a bug in the program.

For a mail merge to be successful you can only have one card on your screen.

Hi Mary:

I actually did a test print of 2 pages to see what my results would be. I
had already split my file to print the front side of the postcard separately
(no duplex printer).

The first page printed the result of the 1st merged record 4 times...the 2nd
page printed the 2nd merged record 4 times.

When I changed the setting from multiple copies to one, I was only able
print one postcard per page, which is a page waster.

When you do a page setup and select postcards is there one card on your screen?
If 4 cards are on your screen you will experience your issue.
I don't know where you are going wrong. What version Publisher are you using?
What are you using as a data base? Are you certain it is a one page setup?

I am experiencing this very same problem. I would love to get an answer!

I am very, very "new to Publisher". I try to read all of this newsgroups
questions and answers to gain an insight of problems that I will certainly
encounter as I struggle along the road to learning about Publisher. I would
have done exactly the same had I been encountering a problem that appeared
to be identical to the original "poster of the question". I would have felt
mortified had I been called a hijacker! Jypzstar was merely stating that he
also had the same problem so that people who might be interested in posting
a reply would know that they were helping more than one person. Do you have
a problem with that Joanne? If you are not careful you will frighten away
the most very recent newcomers to Publisher. I am one of them!

Take a deep breath and count to 5. Being "very, very new to Publisher" is
not an excuse.

Even tho it seems to you that your situation is the same, it may not be. It
is considered bad etiquette to hijack another thread. If you've searched the
archives and tried the solutions to others with the same symptoms, then
start a new thread, telling us what you've tried. I've found the Microsoft
web interface to be horrific for posting or searching past posts. Try using
the Google interface - much, much easier. Plus sometimes a solution to your
issues can be found in one of the Office newsgroups. (People will sometimes
questions about a specific program over there instead of posting it within
the product. That makes it a bit more difficult to find.)

Over the years I've found very few "new" problems. Now that the Office beta
is out there are more but generally speaking, there's nothing new under the
sun.

An excuse for what? Don't know what you're on about.

So how come you did *exactly* that in your response to Rob's post! Are there
special rules for MVPs and not for us mere mortals? Chill out! I've only
been on this group for about an hour or so and already you're putting me
off. Is that what you MVPs are supposed to do?

Iv'e read quite a lot of Mary's, Ed's and Chuck's responses and they are so
professional and not at all sarcastic. Not sure if Chuck is an MVP, if he
isn't then he should be.

Maureen

By the way, sorry about putting an "e" on the end of your name. It wont
happen again.

Thank you for spelling my name right. There are about 6 or 7 ways to do it
wrong. When I was younger I didn't mind it near as much as I do now.

And Rob posted a question about pagination issues with a Pub file after
converting it to a .pdf. Rob and I are working on the same size
publications, set up the same way. His question was concerning the .pdf
output when you are using a physical printer that cannot handle an 11" x 17"
sheet. I offered to either help him correct his problem or narrow down
potential problems with *his* situation. I did not say "Hey, that's
happening to me. This is my situation." That is hijacking a thread.
