Print Screen

I have Office 2003. In Word, Help says
*To make a copy of only the active window, press ALT+PRINT SCREEN
*TO copy the entire screen as it appears on your monitor, press PRINT
SCREEN.
I am trying to copy only the active window, and I try following the above
directions, but I still get the entire screen.

This problem is frequently caused by using a PS/2- USB adapter on the
keyboard or a broken keyboard.

Hi Joy
I normally do the following:

1. Press Print Screen twice, with no other keys
2. CTRL +V to paste into your chosen program

I can also highly recommend SnagIT - cheap and effective!

Gadwin PrintScreen is free and a new version is out. Also you might like
FastStone Capture which is also free. Faststone will do a few things that
Gadwin cannot such as capture a scrolling item.

Snagit is NOT cheap! It is expensive and not worth it for most users. It is
a great application but not for the high price considering that most users
need just basic screen capturing which is free from many applications.
IrfanView is another free one and it just got a badly needed update.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I thought I had Irfanview at one
point, but perhaps it was on my previous computer, or this one before I had
to have it formatted because of a virus a while back.

I'm beginning to think the fault might be in my keyboard.

Until I decide if I want to download another program (I need to free up some
space!), I found a work-around for the particular need. I printed the .doc
to PDF and then used the snapshot tool to take a picture of it there; then
pasted it back into a new Word document.
