Print screens and Attachements

When I try to send a print screen (cut and paste) or any kind of picure
object, the recipient receives an icon with a .dat extension and, when
opened, is garbled text and symbols. I have disabled all mail scanning
applications, but that has not helped. I have Outlook 2003, full version.
Others can send me print screens, etc...so I know the problem is my set up,
not the firewall or mail scanner. Help please.
