Print shows merge fields not data

J

John Grierson

I have used mailmerge to produce a document which is then
converted back to non mailmerge (with the data showing)
and then saved with another name.

On opening the saved document everything looks correct but
printing shows the merge fields not what is on screen.

Any ideas please and thanks

John

Hi John

From the Tools menu, select Options and then Print and in the Include with
document section of the dialog, uncheck the Field codes item.

Hi Doug

Thanks for yours but I already had Field codes unchecked.
I am using the mailmerge fields in both Header and Footer
and this is where the problems occur. No trouble if I use
a mailmerge field in the body. Any clues?

Thanks

John

Hi John,

You may need to open up the header and footer and then toggle off the field
codes (ALT + F9)

Thanks again, Doug,

But I have decided it is safer to output the information
to a .txt file and then use a macro in Word to write the
information into Header and Footer

Regards

John
