Print to File

You can direct output of a printer driver to a file, instead of to the
printer port, by changing the port to which the printer driver is
attached to FILE: instead of LPT1: or the network string. In the
Printer application in Control Panel.

While I've answered your question I have a nagging feeling this isn't
what you wanted. What are you trying to do?

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

I want to be able to print a report or capture a view directly to file. I want to be able to Filter by Resource and all tasks that are less than 100% and possible other filters. I would like to direct this information to an HTML file if possible. All suggestions are of course welcome.

OK... that something differnt.

Best Practice is to create and distribute PDF files of reports and views.

With newer versions of Project, you can save to HTML files via mapping
that can be filtered. Can handle most of what's needed, in my
experience. Where more required, relatively simple to write some VBA
code which creates the HTML file directly.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

I think that VBA is probably the way to go. I still don't have all the requirements from mgmt at this time. Can you recommend a learning tool for VBA. I am using Proj 2002. I have very little programming exp. Any suggestions?

First use Project's HTML creating capablities to get a feel for how all
this works. Print views and reports to PDF.

Write vba code as last resort (unless your boss likes to spend money on
you.)

See http://www.mvps.org/project/vbacode.htm for info on VBA. I think
you can find more material on Microsoft's web site re Project.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

I need to print some large MSProject files. Kinko's has a large format
printer, but they can accept JPEG, BMP, or PDF files only, according to
the store's personnel. How can I create a PDF file from print view?
