I have Access 2000.
I would like to be able to put a table on the web, but I can;t even get
started. When I just try to print even one page of a report, as a test,
nothing happens. There is essentially a lockup as the hourglass remains
indefinitely.

It isn't real clear what your intention is. If all you want to do is display
your table or query records on the web, you can export the table/query
directly to HTML. You don't need to use a report.

Thanks for your reply. This is a feature I didn't know about. But I don't
know how to proceed. When I tried to export the report thus it asked what
template I wanted to use. I don't know the answer.

This report is a list of photographic subjects, arranged phylogenetically,
which has the number of images of each species, in categories and
subcategories, somewhat like this simplified version:

CATEGORY # of species # or images
____________________________________________________________
Mammalia: 100 7211
Carnivora 34 2438
Felidae 11 655
Felis domestica DOMESTIC CAT 126
Panthera leo AFRICAN LION 57

etc.
I want the report to appear so on the web and with the category colors and
everything.
If I just export the query it would be a big mess like:

I'm not sure about the templates. I just tried this and clicked ok without
selecting a template and the HTM generated wasn't too bad. It lacked some of
the formatting.

If you want to post the results of your report to a web page you might want
to consider converting it to PDF.
