We have Access 97 report set to print to a specific
printer (OKIData 520) that is a local on a windows 98
machine. We have recently upgraded 2 machines to Windows
XP, of course the first thing was to create a report that
connects to the printer driver with an XP acceptable
name. Now it will print once then it sends the print
driver into "opening" status and locks the computer up
for 20 minutes. It never releases the printer for use
again. Then we have to exit Access to release the
printer. This is a constant on one, and on another it
may print 20 times then all of a sudden not work.
We have been told that we have to upgrade our Office to
take care of this problem. There is a bigger problem -
we can't afford to upgrade at this point.
Thanks in advance for any help.
