Print to pdf spreadsheet with multiple worksheets

I want my spreadsheets with multiple worksheets to print-to-pdf with
all worksheets appearing in the same pdf file. Instead, nearly every
time I attempt this operation, Excel prints a different pdf for each
worksheet. I do have one spreadsheet that has printed the way that I
want it (all worksheets in the same pdf file), so I know that this is
possible. However, I cannot figure out why this one spreadsheet
sometimes prints all worksheets into one pdf. Anybody know how to
control this?

Hi-

It sounds like you're using the standard print pdf feature which I
don't believe supports that type of document structure. Separate sheets
in Excel aren't separate pages... think of them more as "layers".

In order to do what you want you will probably have to go throurgh a
page layout program that supports layering (InDesign, QuarkXpress) or
create your pdfs using Acrobat.

Hope this helps |:>)

PS to previous post: I believe I misread what you wanted to do. Sorry,
long day!

Have you tried Selecting all sheets before you print the pdf? (click
the first tab then Shift-click the last tab) |:>)

This is a recognized problem, where only the first sheet gets into the PPDF
file. I can't recall whether it's a Microsoft or Apple problem. (I think the
later). I do not believe there is any work around.

The only "workaround" I've found is to join the files using Acrobat or
one of the free/shareware pdf joiners you can find at VersionTracker.com

Hi Bob-

I think you're right about the problem being on the Apple end. I did
the same thing on a PC today (Win XP Pro/Excel '03) and was able to
print to file repeatedly with no hang-ups. Have done the same in Excel
XP.

Trying to do it tonight in Excel '04 I got one file to pick up 2 out of
3 pages, every other effort resulted in 3 1-page files.
