Printable Area

When I open a document, the entire page is viewable (with the normal.doc margins intact). When I click page setup, the margin are intact (T- 1", B-1", R-1.25", L-1.25'). BUT, when I click 'OK' in page setup, I get a message that says the margins are outside the printable area, click 'Fix'. I do this, and the bottom margin become. 2.67" and all the text that falls below that line is lost! I've tried restarting the computer/printer, opening different documents, etc all to no avail

The problem seems to have started yesterday when I created an Excel document that was 8.5x14 landscape.

Please, any suggestions would be most appreciated.

What printer are you using? Older DeskJets had such a huge unprintable
bottom border. What vintage is yours?

My Printer is a LaserJet 1100A. I have been using it with
this pc for about 4 weeks without any problems.

Any thoughts?

it's not about the printer have a problem or not, but your printer setting.
like terry said, some of printer set it margin too large. maybe you need to
change printer margin as smaller as possible first.

There is a known conflict between Word 2002 (and now 2003) and the HP
drivers for certain LaserJets. The 2.67" margin is the distinction symptom
of this. Many users have reported that the "margin fix" drivers at
http://www.hp.com/pond/ljbeta/index.html solve the problem.

Or as an alternative, reverting to the HP PCL5 driver resolves the issue
too.
