printer compatibility

I have found that an HP LaserJet 1100 (even with HP's
latest drivers) does not work with Office 2003. I am
looking for a list of printers which are compatible with
Office 2003 which is on Window XP professional

Well, I wonder what it's doing or not doing and I've
gotten 1100's to work with Office 2003, but I've found in
the past that when I can't get a software package to work
with the HP1100, I get an older driver or an older
printer's driver. I've even used the LaserJet II with it
to make it work. Please make sure your printer cable is
IEEE 1284. Other than that, I'm sure that the newest LJ
printer (probably HP1300) will work with your Office
package. Good luck.

In addition to all this good advice, make sure that a) the printer cable
is good, and b) that the printer is ok (run a test)?
