printer has not yet responded (when printing in Word)

I encountered this problem at a client site. He has a HP Color Laserjet
4730MFP as a default printer. Suddenly this error came up in Word. Might be
due to Windows Updates, I'm not sure. Tried the following, with no results:

Removed the printer and installed the drivers locally.
Mapped lpt1 to the printershare and changed the tcpip port to lpt1 (worked
until reboot).
When I install the HP LaserJet 4 driver as the default printer, things work
fine. But when I change back to the MFP, it's crappy again.

Any help is really appriciated, as this has already taken me a lot of hours.

Cheers Dennis

You and many others have this problem. It seems to be an incompatibility
with the MFP HP drivers. See if HP help has updated their drivers yet.

Yes I noticed that I'm not the only one. So for me and all the others I hope
someone has figured out a solution. The drivers are the latest one. I also
tried the postscript drivers instead of PCL6, but that didn't help either.

Just a thought, but is the problem the same for users and administrators?

Our MFP 3330 came with only administrators and power users, on the
permissions list. Took us ages to suss this as we had 'simple' file sharing
enabled and so did not get to see the security tab on the properties
dialogue of the printer, until we had done a lot of background research!
