Hi,

I have been recently writing macros for a word for prinitng purposes.

Now we all the now the pitfalls with this, therefore i found some code that
shows me which printers are which and what trays each printer has and there
corresponding numbers. however I have a couple of printers that dont
recognise the tray numbers that are assigned to them and continue to print
on the wrong tray.

any ideas?

Hi Alankar,

Based on what you are saying, it would seem that the printer drivers aren't
properly matched to the printers. Various things you can try.

1. Uninstall and re-install the driver for the offending printers

2. Go to the website of the printer manufacturer and see if there is an
updated driver available

3. Without using VBA, try printing a sample document to each tray in turn,
selecting the tray using the Page Setup dialog, and see what happens. It may
be that the tray you want can be used, it just has a misleading name.
