printer not found

When attempting to print from Visio(11.3216.6568) I get error 507. Default
printer not defined. The printer is defined and I am happlily using it in
other Microsoft applications. I've tried changing the default printer and
rebooting but no success.

That error typically happens when no printers are installed. Curious if
you're having issues in other Office apps and if this is happening on
32-bit or 64-bit windows . Also, I should point out you don't have any
service packs applied for Visio 2003.

Make sure the spooler service is running. If that's running it could be
something with the core print driver files. You should be able to fix that
by removing and re-installing the printer driver. To do that you need to
remove the printer in Printers folder, then go to Server Properties on the
File menu (Print Management in Vista) and remove the driver from the
drivers tab. Then re-install the printer. You can also try printing to the
MIcrosoft Office Document Image Writer printer if it's installed and see if
it works going to there and see what happens compared to having a physical
printer installed.
