printer sharing

I have two computers, both connected to a dsl router with ethernet cards;
one computer with Win XP has a printer; the other computer has Win 2000.
I'd like to have the printer available to the Win 2000 computer but it isn't
detecting it.

The 'file and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks' is enabled on the Win
XP's puter's LAN. The nic cards work since they both have working internet
connections. The printer has sharing enabled and has Win 2000 drivers
installed ( ready on demand ).
