Printer will not NOT collate

Running Office 2000 on Windows 2000 Server.
Using Excel.
I pull up the printer driver (HP 4200) and uncheck the
Collate box then select 3 copies of a one-page Excel
document. Apparently Excel tries to send a collate
command to the printer anyway.

Next time I pull up the printer driver in Excel, the
Collate box is selected again. I cannot get the un-check
to stay as I can when I use Word or Outlook.

How can I get the printer driver to remember it's previous
settings in Excel?
