Printing a menu on half of a Letter size

I am helping a friend with a restaurant. They want to make the dessert menu
by printing two menus on one sheet of 8.5"x11" landscape, making two
5.5"x8.5" portraits.

In Word is there a way to design the menu so that you type one menu and it
prints two-up on each sheet of paper?

In Word 2000 and above, you can either design the menu full (Letter) size
and use the "2 pages per sheet" option in the Print dialog, or design it
actual (half-Letter) size by using the "2 pages per sheet" option in the
Page Setup dialog. In either case, you must either duplicate page 1 on page
2 or tell Word to print pages 1, 1.
