Printing a table

Garamond

Although the following suggestions didn't work, in this case, thank you
to the person who took the time to offer them. I tried Word >
Preferences > Include with Document and checked that the "Drawing
objects" was turned ON; it was. Next, tried File > Print Preview to
see if I could see the page with the table on it--I couldn't. The
preview showed the blank page with "Word List" at the top. Last, went
to Format > Font to make sure that the text is not set to "Hidden," and
it was not. This is a mystery! (I have Office 2004 for Mac, by the
way.) Any other ideas out there?

Hi Garamond:

OK... First, please use "Reply to" to get back to a discussion. Otherwise
you create separate, dissociated articles on the server and people can't
tell what you have already seen and tried.

Just had another thought: Check in Format>Table Properties>Text Wrapping>is
NOT set to "Around". If it is, it is possible that while the text in the
table is not set to "Hidden" the text of the paragraph to which the table is
anchored may be. If it is, the paragraph to which the table is anchored may
be set to Hidden or Deleted, in which case the table won't appear in Print
Preview or Print.

Go to Tools>Track Changes and Accept All changes (which will be greyed out
if there aren't any...). Select All in the document and use
Format>Cont>Hidden and ensure it's OFF.

It is also possible you have a problem that is so rare I have seen it only
twice in the past 20 years. It produces precisely this symptom.

It seems to be a corrupted Normal template, and the last time I saw it was
with a PC Word 6 document created in 1999.

Try this:

1) Quit Word

2) Rename your Normal template

3) Start Word and create a blank document

4) Open the bad document

5) Ensure you can see your paragraph marks. Carefully copy everything
EXCEPT the last paragraph mark. You copy that and you copy your problem...

6) Paste into the new document and save under a new name.

Now try... If that brings it right, it was a very rare document corruption.

Cheers
