Printing across network?

I have shared the onenote printer on my tablet and want to have my admin on
her computer be able to print certain documents directly into my onenote on a
daily basis. I have tried installing the print driver for onenote across the
network and it acts like it installs. However when I go to look at the
properties for the driver on her computer it says it isn't installed.

Is it possible to do this and any ideas on getting it to work? Thanks!

I have never tried it, but it doesn't sound like something I would
expect to work. Maybe someone from MS can chime in here?
You are using OneNote 2007 Beta 2 I assume?

yes I am using 2007 beta 2. Right now my admin emails me the document, then
I open it and then print it myself to onenote. It would be nice just to have
it printed directly by my admin without me having to perform the extra steps
10 to 20 times per day. Thank for looking into this!

Aloha tripp,

It turns out that this scenario has been looked at and that it's actually
disabled on purpose. There are some potential security issues involved plus
apparently a nasty (but as-yet unspecified) bug in that solution and so the
decision was made to disable the capability to share and network print to
the OneNote print driver.

I think it is a neat idea, but I also agree with the dev team that there
could be some security ramifications and it's probably not worth enabling
it since there are other ways to accomplish that task - even if they are
perhaps not quite as elegant. :)

How about...(suggestion from MS):
You could store your notebook on a server. Your admin could open that
notebook on her computer and print whatever is needed to it (using her
local ON printer). The notebook would be cached locally on her and your
computer and ON would keep the two cached copies in sync with the server
one. From my own experience, you probably have the contents she printed
1-2 mins later in your local notebook.
