printing an inserted shape such as a down arrow

My printer will not print an inserted shape from the "shapes" menu in word
2007. the text above prints just fine. i tried inserting a text box in
excel and inserting the same arrow...printed out just fine in excel...i am
using vista home premium, 64 bit and a kodax esp-9 printer. i think it must
be a simple check or uncheck box in the options area of word but i cannot
find it. hope someone can help...thanks in advance

Go to Office button > Word Options > Display and check the option for "Print
drawings created in Word".
