Printing Blanks in Word 2008

In word 2008 my documents appear correctly in any of the view options but if I do a print preview I see a tiny portion of the document and if I go to print the page it is blank. Excel etc. are all printing fine. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Unfortunately no. MSFT and Apple are working on the
issue. At the moment, the only workaround is to change the printer
resolution to something lower, like 600dpi, from the print dialog.

One user reported the following workaround: disable your printer and use
'SAVE AS', then choose PDF format. At the end of the day, reinstall your
printer and print the docs through the saved PDF File. It is a tedious
process but this is the only other way to print your documents.

I wish I knew when there would be a fix but I don't. All I can say is be
sure to update both Office and your OS whenever updates are offered!

Hello

Im having the same problem. When I go to print preview it is blank, when I print to PDF it is blank and when I send to my printer the hard copy is blank.

The only way around is to switch my printer driver to the generic laser printer then go back to word, now when I see the print preview my document is shown, I can now print to PDF then I have to swap my printer driver back to my samsung one and print out the PDF's - such a faf!

Have you checked to see if there is an updated driver for your printer?

If there isn't or if it doesn't resolve the problem there's a good chance
you're in the Bermuda Triangle - Apple contributed by throwing developers a
curve, MS wasn't able to counteract very quickly & some printer mfr's have
been unable/unwilling to catch up.

However, the recently released 12.0.1 update to Office 2008 may very well
correct the problem for you - Have you applied it yet? If so & it still
doesn't help try setting the printer to a lower resolution until a newer
driver comes out.

Hello CyberTaz

I have checked for a newer Samsung printer driver but there is not one.
I have applied the 12.0.1 update but that did nothing to help me.

At the moment I'm failing to see how I can change my output resolution as it is not available in the print dialogue box

Nothing.

Until Microsoft knows specifically what operating system, printer, and
printer driver, you are using; there's nothing they can do.

If you want to include that information in a Help>Send Feedback to
Microsoft, then you'll get some action :)

Cheers

Oh no I am having the same problem! what is being done about this!!

See my earlier: You must report these issues to Microsoft, not in the
forum.

You only reach fellow users in here. Microsoft is not reading this forum --
they're too busy fixing bugs :)
