Printing column titles

Is there a trick to printing the column titles on each page?

The Page Setup for printing titles has two blanks, one titled "Rows to repeat at top" and "Columns to repeat at left" but shouldn't that be "Rows to repeat AT LEFT and columns to repeat AT TOP"? It doesn't work this way, certainly not by clicking, as instructed in the Help.

Or am I missing something?

Thanks.

You're missing something...

Rows go horizontally (e.g., A1:XFD1, A5:XFD5), so repeating an entire
row "at left" doesn't make any sense - there's nothing to the right of a
row.

Likewise Columns go vertically (e.g., A1:A1048576, BDJ1:BDJ1048576).
Since there's nothing "underneath" a column, one can't repeat it "at
top".

If your column titles are in row 1, enter

$1:$1

in the "Rows to repeat at top" input box. If you have titles in multiple
rows (e.g, rows 1 to 3), then enter:

$1:$3

Thanks for clearing that up. It's far from obvious, and the Help is obtuse.

I'm used to Word tables, where you just select "heading rows repeat" and bingo!

Excel is so complicated, no wonder I've been avoiding it for decades.

I'll stick to tables from now on.

If you think Word Tables are somehow less complicated than anything (or
everything!) in Excel, I commend you!

Just trying to wrestle Table Styles into submission to provide any sort
of formatting consistency is an exercise that can reduce me to tears!

But perhaps that's just me...

OTOH, "Heading rows to repeat" and "Rows to repeat at top" sound more
than vaguely similar to me...
