Printing comments only?

Is there any way to print out just a list of comments added to a
document using "track changes?"

Thanks.

Hi Scott:

Not easily. You have to assemble the list in AppleScript, then print that.

There is one thing you could "Try". It's nasty but it works: Turn all of
the styles used in the Documents to Font = Hidden except the "Comments"
style.

Then print the document.

Only the Comments style will print :)

cheers

Thanks for your reply John.

I decided to try the Font=Hidden approach, and in the process I
stumbled across something else...

If I go to Print the document, then choose "Microsoft Word" from the
pulldown that leads to the different settings areas, then choose "List
of Markup" from the "Print What" pulldown, I then get the list of
comments with names and dates. If I've accepted all changes already,
then only the comments show up, and not the editing.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,

You found the suggestion I was going to give you! As you noted, if you have
accepted all changes in the document, then when you choose ŒList of Markup¹,
only the Comments in the document are printed. With the current version of
Win Word, whatever items are selected off of the ŒShow¹ drop down (Comments,
Insertions and Deletions, Formatting) of the Reviewing toolbar, only those
selected items are included in the print out. With the current version of
Mac Word, all of the mark up items are included with the print out
regardless if they are selected on the Show drop down.

Hopefully with our next version of Mac Word, we will be sync¹ed up with Win
Word functionality.
