Printing Comments

Does anyone know how to print only the comments in Word 2004? I have searched high and low in the print dialog box and in the Word preferences panel and in the help files and cannot find it (Also: I have read online to select "comments" from the "Print what" pop down menu, but "comments" is not listed and none of the other options print comments.)

Thanks.

Hmm, I can't quite get this either.

The Print What options include "list of markup", which will print
comments and insertions and deletions all together. A quicker way to
print the list of markup is to enable the Reviewing Pane (showing
comments/insertions/deletions at the bottom of the window), put the
cursor in the Reviewing Pane, and Print.

But I can't figure any way to narrow the "list of markup" to just
comments--the Show commands only affect the balloons, not the list of
markup.

If all you have is comments, it will work, but that's not so realistic.

Anyone got a clue?

Please use Help | Send Feedback in Word to let MS know that you want to
be able to print only the Comments.

Thanks, I sort of figured it out. There's a pop down selection called "List of markup" that prints all revisions and comments. Perhaps MS should put a little more effort into coming up with more obscure ways to label menu offerings!

Thanks again.

I "believe" that if you restrict the display to "only comments", that is all
that will print if you use the drop-down to print "Markup".

Generically, the rule for Word printing is "The print command prints only
what was visible when it was used."

Microsoft has a whole department dedicated to inventing obscure dialog box
labels...

The real problem is that they use drop-down lists. You can't see what is in
a drop-down list until you drop it down...
