printing compared documents

When I compare 2 documents using Compare and Merge to get a blacklined final
version, printing produces extra pages of deleted material instead of putting
it all in balloons. The extra pages do not show up in Print Preview but do
print. I want all changes to appear in balloons with no extra pages.

You *may* be able to accomplish this by allocating a greater percentage of
the line/page to balloons (Tools | Options | Track Changes).

Set your Track Changes as follows:
Insertions: Your choice. I prefer "Color Only," but this is your preference.
Deletions: Hidden
Balloons: Always

Then check your Print options and make sure hidden text is set to NOT print.
(This is probably why the deleted text is printing extra pages, but is not
showing on screen.)
