printing dashes in phone number or hyphenated words

in publisher 2002 text boxes, we have phone numbers and
hyphenated words, i.e. pre-paid. when we print, the
dashes in the phone numbers over-print on the numbers and
the whole phone number is smashed together. same occurs
with, for instance, the word "pre-paid" prints out prepaid
with the dash printing out over the 'e'. any clues?

This will be a printer driver issue or a bad font issue.

See if your printer manufacturer has an updated printer driver on their
website for your model printer, and try a font like Arial or another MS
supplied True Type font.

The issue you describe is not a Publisher issue.
