I am using Word VBA to print about 1000 different documents. Fairly often,
5-8 documents come off the printer in the wrong order. If I change my
printer settings in Windows to have the choice "Print directly to the
printer" chosen, it always prints in perfect order. With that choice turned
off, even though Word automation is printing each document, it seems that a
few files may "trip" over each other as Word send them to the printer. I
definitely print with background printing turned off, and I also have the
settings of "Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster" and
"Start printing after last page is spooled".
The problem with "Print directly to the printer" is that it takes 3 times as
long to print. Is there a way to use the other settings, and make sure Word
properly prints a document fully in the Windows queue before it sends
another document?
