Printing does not work with Office 2004 and Airport Express

Hi there,

after updating to Office 2004's SP1 (German) and OS X 10.3.6, I find
that I can no longer print to my printer, which is connected by USB to
Airport Express. So by default I print to it wirelessly.

This problem affects only my Office applications, all other cocoa and
carbon apps print fine.

When I fire up the print dialogue in any Office 2004 app (Entourage,
Word), the top pop-up list item tells me "printer: no printer
selected", and if I click it to see the full list, it does not list my
printer at all. Again, this works fine in all other OS X applications.

I used Print Setup Repair, I trashed all prefs, reinstalled printers...
to no avail.

So I am inclined to think this could be an Office 2004 issue.

Any guys who can help?

It is very appreciated

Andy

Andreas -

I've had this same problem, and I just fixed it today.
The problem I had was an application called Little Snitch.
I told it to keep my Office applications from connecting to the internet.
And because of this, they couldn't see my printers.
I removed the rules that kept them from connecting, and my printers
are showing up again and working as good as before.

If you have Little Snitch or other spyware-watchers installed,
this may be your problem too.

Hope it helps.
