Printing error

Dave Joseph

I just installed a fresh Office 2003 onto this computer.
It prints weekly calendar just fine. When the user goes to
print a day calender i get the folloing error message.
X The messaging interface has returned an unknow error. If
the problem persists, restart outlook.

1) i restarted outlook same result
2) I checked the event log to see what was happening. then
i searched the knowledge base for any known cures for this
problem with no luck.
3) I did a renistall with option to repair, still get the
same result,
4) the only thing that i have yet to do is uninstall
office and reinstall it.
5) befor i try this i thought i would ask for some help as
to maybe someone knows how to correct this problem.

This is a bug in SP1 and it only happens when a non admin
tries to print another user's calendar in daily view. For
now the fix is to uninstall SP1 until someone from MS
reads these messages. I've submitted a complaint to
MSWish, but I'll probably just get a generic response from
someone in India like usual. I'm going to post another
complaint with the details right after this response to
your post.

Make sure you're not including the TaskPad in the print setup unless the
user has access to that folder, too. To do this click File/Print then select
Page Setup and untick next the TaskPad, this solves this problem.
