printing from any Office 2008 app fails and crashes app

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: intel

Just installed 2008 yesterday (upgraded from Office X) and now can not print from any Office application. I don't get even get the printer dialog box, the application freezes for about 10-20 seconds then crashes. Hurray!
Our network printer is a Minolta C351.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am the lab rat before the rest of the office gets upgraded. Thanks

Three things come to mind right off:

1- Have you run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions & restarted since
upgrading?,
2- Have you checked to see if Minolta has an updated driver for the
printer?, and
3- What specific build of Tiger (10.4._)?

Office X is 2 generations removed from 2008 & 2008 was "designed" for the
next generation (Leopard) of OS X, so my bet is on the driver software.
Please get back to us with your results.

MM) restarted Yes, I just ran DI and had no permission repairs (i had recently run it)

2- Have you checked to see if Minolta has an updated driver for the
printer?, and

MM) I have the most current for Tiger

3- What specific build of Tiger (10.4._)?

MM) 10.4.11
We have one Leopard Mac in the office so I could try 2008 on that and see if I have the same problems.
