Printing Handouts in Power Point 2004

I have tried with several ppt. shows to print handouts and can¹t seem to get
it to work....

First, it won¹t let me choose the layout like in Windows where you can
choose 3,4,6 slides to a page...and then when I give it the command to
Œprint¹ the printing scroll bar racks up the pages and it runs through the
printer and all of the pages are blank. And, if I check it first in Preview
the pages are blank there too...

Any ideas??

Hi Peggy,

When you use File > Print click the little triangle to the right of the
printer to turn on the hidden features.

On the right hand side look for ³Print What² and then change the setting by
clicking on the word Slides and choosing one of the options from the pop-up
menu.

Thanks Jim, I found the triangle and saw the options...chose 6 slides to a
page, said Œprint¹...noticed that the ŒPreview¹ pane was empty...it printed
out 4 boxes on each page but they are blank...except for a couple and they
have garbled text on them and partial pictures.

Now what????

When you view the presentation in Slide Show view, are there builds
(animations) which block out and then "reveal" the text and graphics?
Maybe you will need to delete white boxes or something to get it to
print normally.

Or maybe the grayscale settings are off. From the View menu, go to
Grayscale. Right click on an object or text box, and select Greyscale
settings. Is it set to White or Don't Show? If so, try another setting
like Grayscale or Automatic.

In the Print dialog box, once you've clicked that triangle to get the
additional settings, under Output, its can't hurt to check that the
Output settings match the printer you will be using. (i.e. Grayscale
if printing on a black and white printer, Color if a color printer.)
