How big is your booklet? What size is the spine? Put all these measurements
together and print.

It's actually a 5.5x8.5 novel, the spine has to many variables as it is in
the editing stage and of course it will depend on font type and size, etc. I
think between 1 to 1.5" But I wanted to be ready to move to the next step. I
wanted to know how to lay out and actually print out a cover and a jacket.
I'm playing with the booket and have printed out 4 pages. Not sure how to add
pages. But went over to brochures to see if I could lay out the cover. Made
the size 8.5x14 to give plenty of room for spine, divided into 3 parts and it
looks like the way to go. Don't know why they don't add a book layout

all I get are what looks like labels? I'm sure if I played with it long
enough I could figure it out. Open to suggestions.

I've never written a booklet long enough that it required a spine. I imagine the
spine labels are a convenience, the smallest is a half inch, that still is a lot
of booklet. What holds the booklet together if not the spine.
