Printing limitation?

There seems to be a lack of agreement when I've searched for an answer to a
printing problem I have.

The collate option in the driver for our printer can selected/deselected
when printing from Word, but is grayed out when printing from Publisher.

The question is, if the option is ticked and grayed out, does that mean the
function is unavailable, or selected and unchangeable? I hope that makes
sense!

Thanks

What version Publisher? The collate option appears in File, Print in Publisher.
It is a check-off. Of course you need to select more than one copy for the
check-off to be active.

Publisher 2003.

Option is checked but greyed out no matter what other options are selected,
including multiple copies.

The problem is our printer also does collating, so multiple copies of the
document get printed out, in the correct order, but the Olivetti then treats
them as one big job when trying to fold and staple!

The company supporting it say we need to uncheck the option to collate in
Publisher, but it seems you can't.

Thanks for responding so quick.

We're not, and I assume you mean KB891904. We tried it anyway, just in case
(!) but it didn't make a difference.
