Printing Mathmatical symbols

Does anybody know how to print the square root symbol
where I can add my own numbers.

For this you'll need to use the Equation Editor. EE is not installed by
default (in the Typical installation), but you can add it. Go to Control
Panel | Add/Remove Programs, select Microsoft Office, and click the Change
button. In the first page, select "Add or Remove Features." On the next
page, expand "Office Tools." Select Equation Editor and set it to "Run from
My Computer." Click the Update button, and insert the Office CD when
prompted.

You can use Equation Editor to do this within Word. Choose
Insert / Object, then select Microsoft Equation from the
list of options.
I don't know if Equation Editor is part of a standard
installation though.
