Printing Ms Word Documents, Not Printing Correctly From Mac

I have MS Office 2004 on the a mac. I am trying to print from ms wor
and it does not print correctly. I have imported a PNG file which i
basically a vertical banner on the left side of the document flush to
0" inch margin. In print layout view it displays as if it covers fro
top to bottom and left to right with no white margin. Yet when I pu
in print preview mode it does have a margin on all sides.

I have tried every setting possible, the borders setting, page setu
(margins all set to 0) graphic settings and nothing works.

I would like this to print out where it bleeds to the paper edge (8.5
!1) and the graphic looks professional, no white margins.

I can print it from my canon printer because it has borderless setting
but not from my other printer which is an epson.

Please help me understand, is this a MS Office bug?

thanks

Hi kbern-

No bug at all... You've basically answered your own question:
I can print it from my canon printer because it has borderless settings

....which evidently does _not_ support borderless printing.

All printers have their limits, and just because you have layout capability
in Word to exceed them (Print Layout View) doesn't mean Word can or should
be able to 'force' your printer to do something it wasn't designed to
handle. That's why Print Preview is there. It shows how the job will
actually come out on paper based on the selected printer's capability.

Consider yourself fortunate to have the Canon available. Some printers that
feature borderless prints can only do so in 'photo' mode for sizes up to
5x7. Even they won't permit full bleed when printing standard documents.
