printing multi page page layouts

I want to print a table that has 7 columns to a custom print area of 30" wide x 18" high. At 100%, there is plenty of room on the paper sheet to have another page in a multi column layout to use a Word term. There's the Print and Fit to 2 wide by [ ] tall Print Scaling dialog, however, I haven't successfully seen it put "page 1" next to "page 2". Fitting to 2 wide by 12 tall results in a single page per paper sheet at 100%, and anything less starts to shrink the table. A value of 9999 or no value is the same as 12.

Exporting to Word was of limited use. I was able to set up a 2 column layout, but there's been a bug in the printing of any pages beyond page 1. Even though the page layout on screen is right, the prints of page 2, etc. Repeat the first column as the 2nd column, resulting in twice as many pages as needed.

Thanks for any help or tips, I've reached a dead end.

If I understand you correctly, you can not do that in Excel. If you specify
you paper size to 30"x18", you'll have to have a printer that can handle
that size paper. The only way to get Excel to put multiple pages on the same
sheet of paper is to use the camera tool. Compose each sheet the way it
should look, then use the camera tool to take a "picture" of one of the
ranges representing the page, and place it next to the other. Then make sure
your margins and print area cover the 2 pages.

Yeah, I think you are describing the situation I'm working on. I'm an architect attempting to create a large table intended to fill a 30x18 field on a 36x24 sheet of paper. I gave up trying to work the issue in Excel, and exported to Word. I was able to get one page printed successfully, which is the first attachment.
issue 1: The PDF for page 1 actually illustrates that I couldn't get Word to generate a 2-column layout that took full advantage of the available horizontal real estate. I was limited to two 10.5" columns even though they could have been wider.

issue 2: There is enough data in the table to print 2 more pages like this, but there seems to be another bug in that it repeats the data left to right even though the table on the screen reads correctly, which can be seen in the 2nd PDF attachment.

I can use your work-around to generate multiple PDFs in Excel or Word, and then arrange them in the CAD program, but it's disappointing it's not easier. Thanks for the tip, and taking the time to respond. Best, Schaeffer

Not sure where the attachments went. Interesting forum.
