Printing of Transparent objects?

G

George K

Hi,

does anyone know if there is a way of printing transparent objects in Office
XP?

For example, when drawing squares, circles,... and fill them with colour,
after selecting a transparency percentage it shows perfectly on screen but
the colors print solidly, as if no transparency was selected. Does anyone
know why? Also, can anyone say if there is a solution to this?

Thanks,
George

It is probably a limitation of your printer. What type of printer are you
using?

Thanks for your reply.

I'm having an inkjet printer. Epson Stylus Color 900. How can i find out if
its a limitation on my printer? If i want to buy a new printer, what should
i look for? What would it say in the specs or features of the printer?

Thanks,
George

Hi George,

This is a MS Office article for powerpoint that
explains some of the issues with printing transparency
(gradients) in general with some workarounds that
you may want to try to see if you get any better results
http://support.microsoft.com/fr=1&kbid=815001

There were some issues with Epson printers and Publisher 2002
and some of that was correctable with new drivers
through the Epson website if I recall correctly,
but you may want to check in the Publisher
newsgroup, news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.publisher

Also, although you don't appear to have encountered it,
there is a bug (with a hotfix available) in
Office XP with SP2 that can break the transparency
on screen http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=810384
