Printing on 4x6 cards

B

Recently, when I want to print on a 4x6 card, the card comes out
blank. If I insert an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, I find that the
content is located on the lower left side of the sheet, even though
Print Preview shows it will print correctly.

In Page Setup, I have paper size set to 6x4 in portrait orientation.
Margins are set at 1/4" top and sides and .2 on the bottom. The Feed
Method is set to print in the center.

When I give it the print command, I even tried clicking on the Scale
to fit paper size 6 x 4 in Paper Handling, although this step was not
neccesary in the past.

What is the problem?

Have you recently bought a Hewlett-Packard printer ;-)

It is an HP LaserJet 1200, but I've been using it without problem for
a couple years.

Google the group on this. I think there were quite a few discussions on
hp printers and small media printing "off the edge of the paper".

One thing to remember on a lot of hp Printers That the minimum margin
left and right side .25"

ON my HP DJ-990cse margins are .25l, .25R, .47 top and .5 bottom.

You can always ask to set lower but you will receive a message That type
will be affected by margins do you want to fix. if you choose th fix
then it will set at the lowest margin possible.

Phillip,

I set all the margins to .5 and it still didn't work. But I did change
the orientation to landscape and the direction of the card into the
printer, and it seems to be working again, at least for now. Thanks
for your input.

By doing so you end up making your top margins .25 or so. So that is the
proper thing to do
